The alarms blare overhead, with warning flashes of red that illuminate the darkness in pulsing waves. The power's out, maybe through the whole facility. So far, at least, every locked door they've needed to get through comes open with a simple pull. No need for keycards or codes. If Konstantin actually believed in miracles, he'd have to admit this is one.

As it is, it's no miracle — most likely just all the wrong things happening at the right time. A breach of security in a facility that's under-run, a system lockdown that backfired somehow. They can hear the shouts of workers rushing past, frenzied instructions to Shut it all down!, and they might have mere minutes to get the hell out of here.

A series of rapid-fire gunshots sounds from down the hall, and Konstantin thrusts out an arm to catch against the younger man at his side, pushing him back for a moment. Guess they won't be needing that desperate, dangerous escape plan after all; here's another option. It might be their only chance. It probably is. If Konstantin dies on the way out, he'd rather it be that way — better than staying trapped and kept alive here while they turn him into some kind of fucking weapon.

...But he has someone else he's trying to keep alive. And that is a driving motivation to stay alive, too.

"There!" he utters quick and quiet, pointing down a hall leading in the opposite direction from where those gunshots sounded. From the large windows lining the sterile white corridor, it's clearly nighttime. That's good, less visibility when — if — they manage to find an exit out of this place.

ᴡɪsʜʟɪsᴛ

sci-fi / space / cosmic horror & adventure —

— wide open to potential here: whether set in Kostya's time (the early 80's) or sometime in the future for all the advanced spacetime fun

— give me all your space peeps, alien species, etc

— canon / universe mashups very workable here, as well as all the space-time shenanigans: characters ending up in some jamjar-type nexus, or Kostya crash landing into your character's universe, whenever & wherever that might be... Sudden Russian Spaceman Acquisition

— I'd love to keep Kostya's parasite situation regardless to maintain his horror vibes, but happy to adjust & play around with it

laboratory shenanigans —

— spooky research facilities, experimentation labs, etc

— Kostya as a lab rat and your character as a doctor / scientist / researcher or fellow lab rat

— sudden or longterm cellmates or maybe set in a larger place where they're more free to "live" but kept under surveillance; it could even be a small town or something like that, for the long-term potential

on the run —

— which could very easily include / branch off of the above, with our characters making an escape from some sort of laboratory / research facility / etc, but straight-up playing out the "on the run" part could be its own fun

— give me all the road trips (or space travel trips), hotel hopping, lying low, narrowly avoiding re-capture adventures...!

misc. wants —

— Kostya on the search for victims to keep his alien passenger fed. Could be gen or nsfw, in which case he could try to seduce someone. Flexible to play around with this, but a fun possibility could be him intentionally targeting victims he thinks are involved in some kind of bad business / might not be the greatest people / are criminals / seem Unfavourable for some various reason to "justify" choosing them, so that might be a factor we could work with! And we can find plenty of fun reasons for your character to not actually end up as alien chow with this

— Sad Space Dad... Konstantin is canonically A Failed Dad™ with a slew of his own daddy issues, and I'd love to explore that theme further — whether working his abandoned son angst into our shenanigans or even if you'd be interested in your character being his child (whether genuinely, adopted literally, or adopted in ~concept, etc...) or simply him picking up a kid / young person along the way somewhere and for some reason! Basically here for all the complicated family times / themes, and any kid / teen / young person character interactions

— The Alien also offers a ton of interesting potential to work with! It can be adjusted to suit different AUs, and I'd love to play around with this beyond just as a source of Horror & Gore. Canonically, it's capable of developing attachments / associations / "positive sensations" towards people that Konstantin feels positively towards, so it's not as though everyone is in danger of it at all times! Basically, I'd love to explore all of this, and the inevitable complications there. I'm also very interested in seeing how it might adapt & develop outside of the only canon environment it was exposed to on Earth (which was stressful, dangerous, and one in which it was being kept in captivity and shaped into a weapon). Its only experience with humans beyond "a food source" has been extremely negative, so it would be fun to play around with how this highly adaptable little thing might change in different settings

— some favourite tropes: forced reliance on one another, hurt/comfort, found family, all the angst, all the horrors, all the fluff inbetween the horrors, any number of Accidental Situations...

— things like "there was just one bed", "the day after", and "accidentally turned on" could offer interesting starting points to test out character connections with before committing to something longer-term, if you prefer! For anything regarding sexual intimacy in those quick & easy type threads, we'd probably need to hash out some details first; I'm absolutely open to it, but he comes with a nocturnal alien that needs to feed on blood in a gruesome manner in the middle of the night... (although I do think it would be hilarious to play out Kostya making bad manwhore decisions, Sleeping With Someone, and then at some point after or even during.... he just throws up an entire alien)

— I'm also very interested in all the psychological deep dives with this character, and ways to use Physical Intimacy to do that, whether general/platonic or romantic/smutty. He comes with a ton of Commitment Issues TM in general, but now tack on the body image & loss of autonomy issues he's facing as a result of his gnarly situation... I'm also forever thrilled to work in / play around with all the psychological components that other characters offer on their ends! Let's get deep and dark 💪

NOTES

💫 — I'm always down to brainstorm and incorporate any elements or ideas you might have! I'm good both with planning out specifics you might be itching for or tossing out more vague ideas and letting things develop organically.

💫 — This character is available for general / platonic, familial / found family, romantic / shippy / smutty, and horror / gore things. I have no limits on any of this, but please let me know if you do, if you prefer anything faded to black, etc. I'm also happy to roll with established cr / relationships or build up to things.

💫 — Feel free to hmu in a message first if you like, or just throw something at Kostya's open post! I'm also good to play on memes, journal posts, or museboxes. I'm easy ♡

BACKGROUND
Beloved Hero of the Soviet Union, Commanding Officer Konstantin Sergeyevich Veshnyakov is one of two cosmonauts aboard the Orbit-4 during an orbital research mission in the year 1983. When something horrific interferes and the spacecraft crashes upon re-entry, he is the only survivor — seemingly. In truth, Konstantin has unwillingly brought something back with him to Earth. Something that chose his body to make its "spacesuit" while it tries to survive in this new, foreign world.

While the public is told that the two cosmonauts are safely recovering in a rehabilitation complex, truthfully Konstantin is brought to an isolated military research facility, from which he plans to escape in order to reunite with his mother and retrieve his son from an orphanage. However, there are nefarious plans afoot to try and utilise the cosmonaut and his alien sputnik as a weapon of war.

Konstantin himself embodies the concept of the New Soviet Man. He is the posterchild of The Ideal: athletic, handsome, healthy, disciplined, intelligent, a proud Communist, a Commander and a cosmonaut — and a lingering representation of this concept that, by his time, was beginning to be dissolved. "Loved by women and children", he is affable, well-spoken, and appropriately charming: playfully flirtatious or reliably serious when he needs to be. His reputation is his livelihood and identity alike, and he covers up the less desirable parts of himself and his past well — until, of course, everything comes (quite literally) crashing down. Now the once-proud cosmonaut is a fallen hero, one who feels his horrific fate as the alien's chosen host is a justifiable punishment, and who will stop at nothing to help the one who needs him the most — his son, Aleksei "Lyosha" Konstantinovich Romanov.

( cw: mention of suicide )
In the process of escaping from the facility, Konstantin manages to forcefully expel the creature from his body by injecting himself with a concoction that mimics the symptoms of a disease. However, the longer they stay apart, the sicker he becomes, solidifying the concept that they are truly "bonded" and can not survive without one another. The alien, who has been severely wounded by the military, returns to Konstantin's body, where both of them can slowly start the process of healing. However, when more of the military's trucks begin approaching, Konstantin realises he can neither escape being recaptured nor ever be freed from the creature, and so he shoots and kills himself in the abdomen — also killing the alien.

From there, he wakes up in a snowy landscape that isn't the world he just came from — somehow still alive, wounded, but healed to the point the wounds aren't fatal.

THE ALIEN
— biology

The alien that lives inside of Konstantin chose him because it could sense that the other member aboard the Orbit-4 had a terminal illness, and that Konstantin was therefore the better host. Very quickly, it succeeded in "establishing a bond" with Konstantin, such that attempts to remove the alien from his body cause his vitals to deteriorate rapidly; he will die without it, and it will die without him.

Essentially, Konstantin functions as a "spacesuit" for the creature "against a hostile world". Whether its contact with the Orbit-4 and subsequent landing on Earth was intentional or a mistake, the creature uses him as a safe home in which to incubate, grow stronger, and learn more about its new environment.

While incubating, the creature takes up 30 centimeters (11.8 inches) and appears as a simple worm or snakelike creature. It stays inside of him for the most part, emerging only at night to feed, slithering up out of his mouth. When it needs to exit his body, it releases a toxin that causes a seizure-like reaction in its host, ultimately relaxing Konstantin's muscles by force and knocking him out. It also produces a membrane so that it doesn't harm his esophagus and throat when entering or exiting them.

the creature's size when inside of his stomach.... Big Worm,

Though the creature is much smaller when inside of Konstantin's body, it can expand from its simple, wormlike, tubular form to 1.5 meters in length, once it emerges from its host and ingests oxygen. Once outside of him, it shifts into something more detailed, with long, slender arms which it uses to pull itself around with, and the rest of its body forming a long tail, sometimes with little vestigial back legs that tend to drag the ground or stay pressed to its body. Its more intricate state appears like some amalgamation of creatures: a hooded head like a cobra, a cluster of eyes like a spider, a tail that exudes slime like a slug, a mouth lined with sharp little teeth and held like a sucker (much like a lamprey), though they extend longer when the creature attacks. It is only capable of residing outside of him for about an hour, and after feeding or exploring, shrinks back down and returns to Konstantin's body to sleep and incubate in his stomach.

In all aspects, the creature is incredibly sensitive to the environment outside of it. Its body is soft, squishy, and weak, with a poor resistance to the sunlight. Any abrasive external stimuli such as bright lights, flashing, etc. can cause it discomfort and even pain. Its sensitivity also means, however, that it shows an incredible capacity for adaptability, both mentally and physically.

the alien once it has inhaled oxygen and temporarily grown from its small and simple larval state to something bigger and more complex

another of the alien.... crawling its way to go kill and eat someone

GAME NERFING: The alien's extremely sensitive body will be weakened to the atmosphere itself; it's unable to survive well in extreme temperatures and will be very averse to the cold and snow of Milton. Therefore, it will be spending more time inside of Konstantin's body and out of the cold, not emerging from him nightly, but only sparingly. Aurora nights will also be especially damaging to it, given its extreme sensitivity to lights, sounds, etc. By the end of his canon, the alien had also matured enough that it could shapeshift into a more developed state when needed, with fully-formed arms and legs to suit its current environment where it was being treated like a weapon. In Singillatim which presents an entirely new environment (with entirely new survival needs), it will remain more "underdeveloped" and larval both inside and outside of him, conserving its weakened energy and preferring to stay within its host most of the time.
— diet & feeding

The alien essentially feeds on cortisol — a hormone produced in response to stress and fear. For this reason, it's important that it reveal itself to its victims in order to trigger a release of terror. It stalks and frightens victims just long enough for the hormone to be released into their bloodstream, before going in for a very quick and violent kill, often ripping into the heads / brains of its victims. From there, it feeds on their blood.

While the creature can feed on any animal that produces cortisol, its condition (and therefore Konstantin's) is much more stabilised after feeding from humans.

GAME NERFING: While the alien will still need to feed on cortisol, it will not have routine access to humans. Due to the cold setting weakening it and its inability to heal itself when wounded causing the alien to stay inside of Konstantin more, it will not be regularly eating on its own. He will often have to keep it fed himself, feeding from animals (their brains / blood...) This means that he (and it) will be consistently weaker and sicker, as Konstantin will refuse to feed from any humans (although an NPC or two miiight get munched along the way by the alien itself here or there, temporarily helping it stabilise for a bit.)
— bond with host

The alien's relationship to Konstantin is symbiotic. They cannot survive without one another, and mutually benefit each other. As mentioned, Konstantin serves as its literal home and safe environment on a foreign planet, and a means through which the alien is able to learn and adapt. In return, it gives him a "phenomenal capacity for regeneration", meaning that Konstantin can physically heal from even severe wounds at a rapid pace, as long as the creature is within him. His physical performance has also improved even further, making him at the prime of his human capacity.

The creature and Konstantin are also tied in deeper ways. While he's generally unconscious while it's outside of his body, when it returns to him and he wakes later, he has every memory of its experience in minute detail. An unexpected effect is also that the creature retains some memory or sensation of Konstantin's hormonal fluctuations, in the form of being receptive / less hostile / controllable by those he has felt especial fondness to or has strong positive feelings towards, more aggressive or agitated towards those who have frightened or upset him, etc. It also seems to have affection (whether genuine or a mimicry) for the things he does, such as certain items that mean something to its host.

the alien hugging the little doll that brought Konstantin comfort up in space

GAME NERFING: In Singillatim, the alien will function almost exclusively as a parasite rather than a symbiote. While still a part of his body / requiring his body for survival, it will provide no benefits in return. It will be unable to regenerate / heal him (or itself) if wounded, and will have no benefits on his physical state at all. The "mental link" between them will also be severed completely, meaning that Konstantin will be unable to access any memories from the creature, including any of the times it exits his body. Due to its sensitivity of his hormone levels on a biological level, it will still be reactive to his emotions and "mimic" them — becoming agitated when he is, developing "attachments" for things he has positive hormonal fluctuations towards, etc. — but this will purely be from a place that's physiological, with no mental connection at all.

detailed warnings
💫 sci-fi horror This canon is a science fiction horror film. It deals with themes of space exploration Gone Wrong, the idea that humans aren't alone in the universe, etc.

💫 parasitic / symbiotic / body horror The nature of the alien that Konstantin is host to is technically symbiotic, but the way it functions / lives inside of him has very parasitic associations. It is a physical being that occupies his body (essentially this snakelike / wormlike creature) and the idea of that can be extremely disturbing. This also comes with related warnings such as: loss of autonomy, body image issues, etc.

💫 gestation / incubation horror The alien entity is very young / infantile, and utilies Konstantin's stomach as its nest when in its larval form.

💫 emeto Kostya comes with a lot of nausea / vomiting (often blood) / general emeto associations as a result of the alien's residence inside of his gut. The alien also exits and re-enters Konstantin through his mouth, and this is just as horrific as it sounds. Mercifully, he is (usually, but not always...) knocked out during this process, though he does retain most memory of everything that transpired when the alien returns to him and he later regains consciousness.

💫 seizure associations Just prior to the alien leaving Konstantin's body to feed, it causes a seizure-like reaction in him which ultimately weakens all of his muscles and knocks him out.

💫 possession associations When in seizure, the alien causes Konstantin's body to act in a way that may be associated with demonic possession — contorting, moving erratically, throwing itself around, etc. The pupils of his eyes also swell, turning his eyes pitch black when the alien is awake, in a way that looks very demonic.

💫 violence / gore The manner in which the alien feeds is extremely violent and gory. It generally aims for its victim's head so that it can feed from the brain, and this usually involves breaking through the victim's skull.

💫 cannibalism associations Konstantin doesn't technically eat humans, but the alien is nourished by a hormone secreted by living beings, and while it can survive off other species of animals, its preference (as well as the meal that stabilises Kostya's condition the most successfully) is... human animals :) While it essentially feeds off of their blood to get this hormone, it obtains this by ripping into its victim's brains.

💫 experimentation / weaponisation While kept in custody at a research facility against his will, Konstantin is treated as a lab rat for the ultimate purpose of being used as a weapon by the military.

💫 themes of child abandonment Konstantin himself comes with strong "abandoned by my father" themes, as well as guilt over unknowingly (to some degree) abandoning his own child. This theme becomes his driving force to escape the research facility in which he's being contained. He also views his possession by the creature as a "punishment" for abandoning his son.

💫 suicide (SPOILERS FOR MOVIE ENDING) Konstantin ultimately shoots himself in the abdomen to end both his and the alien's lives.

CHARACTER INFO

• Character Name: Konstantin Sergeyevich Veshnyakov
• Character Age: 39
• Character Canon: Sputnik
• Canon Point: Movie end

• Character History: Here.

• Character Personality:

— Charismatic: There's a certain charm that Konstantin embodies extremely well, a charisma that he exudes seemingly without trying. It comes in the form of bright smiles, a sparkle to his eye, a natural ease around people and being the recipient of attention, but also giving attention — he's a highly proficient conversationalist, able to read the flow of an environment and provide what's needed, knowing how to make others feel comfortable, included. He's pleasant to be around, kind-natured, showing interest, taking initiative when it seems that someone else needs him to. It often includes a sort of playful teasing, an affectionate familiarity — and something bordering flirtatious more often than not, a state that he's also quite comfortable in. For Konstantin, this is all part of his own comfort zone, given his particular career and the social role he embodies, which is that of a cosmonaut, a commander, and a Hero of the people — in his culture, a literal rank he has earned. He has been specifically trained to play the part of the charming hero, something his natural personality can fall to with extreme ease. It's also in some ways a sort of coping and defensive mechanism for him, however, a "safe place" to fall back to when his world quite literally comes crashing down and he finds himself in an extremely new, harrowing, and frightening situation. With an alien forcibly inhabiting his body and being contained in a military research facility against his will, Konstantin defaults back to his "normalcy", putting on the charming smile, the flirtatious familiarity, the easy affection to the staff of scientists and doctors. It helps him cope, helps keep him grounded to something when he feels out of control.

— Clever: Konstantin is an immensely clever man, though it's a trait that may be unexpected of him if someone has only ever been exposed to that playful, charming personality of his. However, underneath that surface level, he's quite intelligent. A higher education was a requirement to be accepted into the cosmonaut corps, as well as training in the knowledge of technology and the sciences. Particularly as a Commander whose training extended even further, Konstantin is very skilled in these matters, as canonically evidenced by the way he's able to quickly and efficiently utilise parts of a television set for other purposes, and is well familiar with the inner workings of the technology of his time. He's also skilled at figuring things out, forming plans of action — shown in the way he implemented an escape plan from the facility he was being kept in. He's able to see the bigger picture, and to work the little pieces around him to make that happen. It also means he's very adept in manipulation, often utilising that charm and ease of his to coax people along a specific path.

— Resilient: Resilience is another trait that's been fostered by Konstantin's training through the cosmonaut corps. It wasn't an easy process by any means, being quite grueling and challenging in parts, and involving a great deal of physical and psychological strength. Physically, he's been trained to peak performance, kept in shape and subject to routine medical examinations. But especially psychologically, Konstantin is a force to be reckoned with, having undergone extensive psychological training, given the emphasis on such being part of the "improved" cosmonaut corps training procedures of his particular time, the early eighties. His resilience shows itself throughout his experiences in canon, from the way he's able to maintain a level head when in horrifying situations, to the fact he keeps having hope that he'll be able to overcome the barricades around him and succeed in his goal to escape the military facility, reach his mother, and rescue his child. Certainly, he's not immune to crumbling at times, having little moments where his anger, upset, and fear cause him to falter, but it's generally when he's in solitude, away from being perceived by anyone else. He's able to keep going, and to make decisions that may be tough, not dwelling on them but acting. Perhaps the most extreme example of this is when he decides, within seconds, that the only and best course of action he can take is to end his own life, and he does so without hesitating.

— Avoidant: It may seem in contrast with his determined attitude and tenacity, but Konstantin's method of dealing with certain problems is avoidance, and at times, to literally run away from them. The biggest example of this is seen in the revelation that he shares a child with a woman he once had relations with, and did not marry (in his time and culture, such a thing would be an enormous stain on his reputation). While Konstantin didn't actually know about the little boy until very recently (getting a phone call that the woman had died and the child had been placed in an orphanage) and had plans to go collect him once he did learn of his existence, he claims that he still feels that he "chose space" over his son, insinuating that to some degree, he did run away — from marriage, from a family life. Given his own traumas over being abandoned by his father as a child, Konstantin fears such things (and deeply fears being a father or hurting a child the same way he was hurt.... which he ended up doing, even if inadvertently.) While "avoidant" isn't a huge part of how he typically functions, it is certainly a part that must be noted.

— Insecure: Again, this trait may seem a contrast with his confidence and self-assurance, but while those things aren't forced, they definitely rest at a certain "surface level" place that covers up self-doubt and even self-dislike. Being "a Hero" may be Konstantin's comfort zone and something he has worked very hard to become and embody, but deep down, he doesn't see himself as much of one, especially not anymore. Given what he recently learned about having a son who has been placed in an orphanage because he had no legal father, and the fact he has been utilised for bloodshed by the military facility he's been confined in for several weeks (they were keeping Konstantin to observe and study the alien entity within him, but also to begin the process of weaponising it, and began routinely feeding it human criminals), Konstantin's self-image of "a Hero" has not only been challenged but freshly shattered. His guilt and horror eat away at him, leading him to eventually have an emotional breakdown, to cry, and to need to be embraced in order to calm down again — weaknesses quite unbefitting a strong, "masculine" Soviet Hero. He very much views his possession by the alien entity as a "punishment" for his son's abandonment and suffering, and is continually haunted by that guilt.

— Ruthless: There is a certain ruthlessness to be found in Konstantin, something that has never quite been revealed before his recent circumstances, likely because it never needed to be. But his actions prove that once pushed against the wall and desperate, he will do whatever it takes to meet his goal, when it's important enough to him. This is seen in how he will do anything (and outright says he will) to escape the facility and rescue his son. It raises some upsetting moral dilemmas with other characters, especially the psychiatrist who is helping him, as she accuses him of being monstrous for allowing the facility to continue feeding the alien living human beings (albeit ones who have committed horrible crimes). Meanwhile, Konstantin knows if he challenges them, they'll never let him go, and so pretends that he doesn't know about what's going on, while forming a plan of escape. Whatever the deeper ethics of allowing horrible criminals to meet a gruesome end, the objective fact itself is that Konstantin does in this situation allow fellow human beings to suffer and die for his own cause. He'll do what it takes, even if it's at the cost of his own "humanity" — although it should be noted that in the very end, he did what he had to in order to save humanity, opting to kill himself rather than be used as a lab rat while the alien was turned into a weapon. The potential to be "ruthless" is there in him and he can utilise it when he needs to, but it's certainly situational and complicated.

• Character Skills: Most notably, Konstantin is a Commander of the Cosmonaut Corps, which involves extensive training in various areas:

• vigorous physical training and conditioning (giving him a general advantage in stamina and health, although this will be challenged by the long-term, unpleasant Alien Parasite Effects...)

• vigorous psychological training and conditioning (giving him an extremely stable and capable "psychological readiness", a strong resilience to stress, emotional stability, familiarisation with psychological reactions and how to gauge them in others, etc.)

social training (within his culture's norms and expectations of "social excellence", but also training in social interactions with others, how to integrate well with others, how to be a good leader, etc.)

knowledge of space science and technology (giving him the understanding of the inner workings of various technology, which could come in handy with some of the items around town, etc.)

• recent experience being trapped in a confined environment (he's just freshly returned from space, but also was kept in a small room in a military research facility for several weeks)

• Character Inventory:

— ITEM ONE: a nevalyashka doll
— ITEM TWO: an X-ray of the alien inside of his stomach
— ITEM THREE: a photograph of himself in the military uniform of the cosmonaut corps (much like this one, although his most recent photo taken, which includes the Hero of the Soviet Union medal upon his uniform)

• Important Notes: This character comes with an alien entity that is physically bound to / functions as a part of his body. (If needed, I have more information on the alien here under 'The Alien' section that describes it in greater detail, as well as including nerfing under different sections, which, if accepted, would be edited to suit any changes the mod wishes to make!) However, I've written a shorter summary version below that just really focuses on those nerfing parts for the sake of this application, if that works. Please feel free to let me know if any further clarification or changes are needed!

Alien Summary: While in space on his way returning to Earth, Konstantin came into contact with a rogue alien entity that forced its way into his body. While little is known about this species, it needs a host in order to survive outside of space's atmosphere, and utilises the cosmonaut's body like its own "spacesuit" for protection. It also established a "bond" with him, technically functioning as symbiotic to such a degree that they can no longer survive without one another, although also being quite parasitic in appearance and nature. It mainly has to stay inside of his stomach, and when within his body, it's a relatively small (although still quite large for a foreign object, being nearly a foot long), simple snakelike / wormlike creature. When it needs to feed, it secretes a toxin that causes a seizure-like reaction in Konstantin that knocks him out, and exits him through his mouth, able to exist outside of him for about an hour. Once ingesting oxygen, it can expand in size and girth, as well as develop more features (eyes, teeth, and vestigial limbs) that can be used to explore its environment and feed on the hormone cortisol, which it procures from a victim's blood — typically feeding from the head/brain. A side result to its tether with Konstantin is that he retains its memories and it also retains sensations from his hormonal fluctuations.

Alien Nerfing: The alien's extremely sensitive body will be weakened to the atmosphere itself; it's unable to survive well in extreme temperatures and will be very averse to the cold and snow of Milton.

While the alien will still need to feed on cortisol, it will not have routine access to humans.

In Singillatim, the alien will function almost exclusively as a parasite rather than a symbiote. While still a part of his body / requiring his body for survival, it will provide no benefits in return. It will be unable to regenerate / heal him (or itself) if wounded, and will have no benefits on his physical state at all. The "mental link" between them will also be severed completely, meaning that Konstantin will be unable to access any memories from the creature.

💫 style I default to brackets but I'm just as fine with prose and will match your preferred style!

💫 speed My speed fluctuates depending on RL factors, but I generally run on the slower side, and tags can take me anywhere from a few days to a week to get back to.

💫 contact PM / [plurk.com profile] horreur / hagfishs @ discord

💫 friending You're welcome to add me on discord or plurk, though I do routinely trim my plurk friends list to those I'm in games with or writing with otherwise. It's never meant personally, and anyone is free to re-add me if our paths cross again!
out-of-character
💫 backtagging 100% cool with this! I run on the slower side, especially through the week. Backtags are a must for me and I will gladly backtag into infinity. But if you feel something's getting too stale, I never mind dropping or handwaving details as preferred in order to move on to the next scene, etc.

💫 fourthwalling If the opportunity ever did arise for some reason, I'm cool with it, although anything too zany might require some discussion in advance. Konstantin's life is so wild now that he'd probably take it better than some.... "this might as well happen"

💫 threadhopping If all parties involved are cool with it, I don't mind at all.

💫 limits n/a; I'm fine with any amount of horror / gore / etc. and there's not much else I won't write. That said, I'm always glad to hash out limits you might have to make sure everyone's comfortable.
in-character
💫 physical contact / affection All good oocly, but his ic reactions will be situational. Typically, he's very amiable and openly affectionate in general, but prone to shirking back somewhat if people start getting too close afterwards, given his current alien situation.

💫 romance / flirting / sexual content I'm definitely open to exploring anything (and all of the inevitable spooky angsts involved, etc.) He's best for things like no-attachments flings and would be Extremely Flighty to the thought of anything serious (not just due to his Alien Situation but also because of his commitment-phobic ass), which means I ofc would be down to explore it. On the surface-level, Kostya can be a friendly flirt just in general — often as a way of interacting with people and even a part of his public image and role (he's regarded as a Hero of the people, he's a commander and a cosmonaut, The Ideal Man TM in his culture, etc.) but it's also something of a defensive mechanism for him as well and he tends to default to a flirtatious, charming persona when in a new environment. He's also prone to utilising his charm to his advantage, when needed... and Being Objectified is part of his role, so he's always very happy for that...

💫 physical violence This is totally fine, with some discussion likely needed for anything too intense. The alien attached to Konstantin does have the ability to regenerate and heal his body quite rapidly, but only when it's inside of him, so if it were forcibly kept outside of his body, he could be in trouble. As their relationship is symbiotic, injuring one will also harm the other. It's also worth noting that while the alien itself can withstand some damage and is capable of dealing out some pretty heavy harm of its own, it could actually be quite easy to injure. It's a squishy slimy thing made for quick, easy kills, not prolonged combat. Something to note is that its body is also extremely sensitive to things like bright lights, loud sounds, and other intense stimuli, which can cause it agitation and even pain. It's also much weaker in sunlight, needing damp, dark conditions.

💫 use of powers All good! Characters who have any capacity to sense what's going on with him are also certainly welcome to do so. The alien is a literal organism that lives inside of his guts, so if someone could sense that,,,, go right ahead,,,,
