WARNINGS
sci-fi / space horror β This canon is a science fiction horror film. It deals with themes of space exploration, space exploration gone wrong, the idea that humans aren't alone in the universe, etc.
parasitic / symbiotic body horror β The nature of the alien that Konstantin is host to is technically symbiotic, but the way it functions / lives inside of him has very parasitic associations. It is a physical being that occupies his body (essentially this snakelike / wormlike creature) and the idea of that can be extremely disturbing.
emetophobia β The alien exits and re-enters Konstantin through his mouth, and this is just as horrific as it sounds. Mercifully, he is (usually, but not always...) knocked out during this process, though he does retain memory of everything that transpired when the alien returns to him and he later regains consciousness.
seizure associations β Just prior to the alien leaving Konstantin's body to feed, it causes a seizure-like reaction in him which ultimately weakens all of his muscles and knocks him out.
possession associations β Branching off of the above, the alien causes Konstantin's body to act in a way that may be associated with demonic possession β contorting, moving erratically, throwing itself around, etc. The pupils of his eyes also swell, turning his eyes pitch black when the alien is awake, in a way that looks very demonic.
violence / gore β The manner in which the alien feeds is extremely violent and gory. It generally aims for its victim's head so that it can feed from the brain, and this usually involves breaking through the victim's skull.
cannibalism associations β Konstantin doesn't technically eat humans, but the alien is nourished by a hormone secreted by people and essentially feeds off of their blood β which it obtains by kind of just ripping into people.
experimentation / weaponisation β While kept in custody at a research facility, Konstantin is observed and essentially kept as a lab rat for the purpose of being used as a weapon by the military.
themes of child abandonment β Konstantin himself comes with "abandoned by my father" themes, as well as guilt over unknowingly (to some degree) abandoning his own child. It becomes his driving force to escape the research facility in which he's being contained, so that he can go retrieve his son from the orphanage he's now in. He also views his possession by the creature as a "punishment" for abandoning his son.
suicide via gun β Konstantin ultimately shoots himself in the abdomen to end both his and the alien's lives.

OPT OUT
For reference, while Konstantin's introspection will frequently feature themes of his situation, I will absolutely not be just throwing out the gnarlier parts of this character / the alien wouldn't make an appearance without it being planned in advance / etc.
